Consumer Support Grant (CSG)
Consumer Support Grant (CSG), under section 256.476 of Minnesota statutes, provides monthly cash grants to children and adults with disabilities who are eligible for Medical Assistance (MA), but are not on the MA waiver. The CSG is for individuals who are living at home and wish to purchase and secure their own supports or have an authorized representative who is able to do so.
The CSG may cover additional costs related to care at home, not including normal costs of living. Some examples include personal assistance, housekeeping or chore services, respite, adaptive aids, home modifications, special diets, transportation, and counseling.
The purpose of the CSG is to provide flexibility and responsibility over their services and supports, promote local program management and decision, and encourage the use of informal and typical community supports.
