Your voice matters!

Your voice matters! Your local representatives need to hear from you, so they know how these services help people like you.
Here are some easy ways to share your thoughts with your representative:
- Find your representative. You can look up your ZIP code here to find out who represents you: Find your Representative
- Write a letter to or email your representative! When writing, you can include these things:
- The bill or budget you’re writing about.
- Why waivered services are important to you. Share how these services have made a difference in your life. This is your chance to tell your story!
- Add photos! Representatives love to see real faces and it helps them understand who they are helping in their community.
- Still not sure where to start? Learn how to contact your representative here.
Tip: Keep it short and clear. If you are writing a letter, keep it to one page or 500 words if you are emailing.
Example Letter:

- Meet your representative in person. If you can, visit your representative when they are holding local meetings. These are great chances to talk about what matters most to you. You can also make an appointment to visit them at the State Capitol. When you meet, share your thoughts in 5 minutes or less. Don’t forget to bring a photo to leave with them!
Tip: Building a relationship with your representative and their aides are a great way to make sure your voice is heard. Small gifts like a coffee or cookie, a thank-you card or a token of appreciation, can help them remember you.
Your story is powerful! Waivered services have a huge impact on families, and you have the ability to make a difference. Don’t be afraid to speak up and let your representative know how important these services are.
Thank you for being an advocate for your family and others who need waivered services!
